College football chatter

"How do buckeye fans continue to dismiss these embarrasing losses and blame on something or someone else, or dis the team that kicked their (butts) ... tressel is NOT a big game coach, and the buckeyes continue to embarass the big 10"

This was taken from another posting that started out NFL and devolved into a college football discussion. So, to get more interest going, I posted this comment from an anon poster.

I am not one of those Buckeyes fans that dismiss the loss or try to blame it on someone other than the team. OSU got outplayed by Florida. The Bucks got outplayed by LSU. Simple as that.

As for Tressel, I'm not ready to say he's not a big game coach yet. It wasn't but a few years ago that he prepped his team to upset the unbeatable Miami team. He's owned Michigan (I don't care, I don't care ... OSU coaches will always be judged by their record against Michigan). I have to say, though, my confidence is a bit shaken by the last two BCS championship game losses.

Oh, and to say OSU embarasses the Big 10 is a joke. The Big 10 does a good enough job of embarassing itself without pinning the blame on one team. OSU made it to the title game two years in a row ... and even though they lost both, don't think any of the other 10 teams in the conference wouldn't trade places with them.

You know, I am not too sure about that comment above. You would think that Tressell is easily among the elite coaches in the country. I just think the past two seasons Tressell was ill prepared for these two offenses. It doesn't have to do with speed, or conference. It just means that one coach was better prepared than the other. But I still don't think it has anything to do with the calibur of your coach. We would all be thirsty to have him coaching our clubs!

Re-dun-dant. Sorry, I just woke up. (Yes, I know it is noon and some change)

Yeah, like I'm not even close to pushing the panic button. I mean OSU made it to the championship game both years for Pete's sake! It's just the performance, and more specifically how ill prepared they seemed to be and how few adjustments during the game, really concerns me.

That said, I would never take a trade of Tressel for The Big Punkin'. No offense!

HA! None taken! Seriously. I would be proud to be a fan of tOSU. No matter the loss!

As it all grinds to a hault, we must wait for national signing day, the draft, the orange and white game (YES!) and of course a little more dormancy between April and September. :( I guess I may watch some Tennessee basketball this year. I have to have some filler!

So do you want Bret or Tom to win a Super Bowl? Since Tom is a Michigan alum, albeit he had no role in anything concerning Ohio State, I am assuming you're all for Bret in '08?

I watched your video about OSU/LSU and/or SEC... you laid it out just fine when we were there for New Year's; t IS cyclical. The SEC just finished their upswing and truly I forsee an entirely new Big 10 ESPECIALLY if Tressel hauls in Terell Pryor.

Lastly, Tennessee vs. Ohio State tonight. Who is your pick?

Remarkably, I was pulling for Brent. Being a Bears fan, it's tough for me to say that. Now, I guess I'm pulling for Eli. I can't put my finger on it, but I just don't like the Patriots.
