Zac Dysert broke the thumb on his throwing hand against Crestview, ending the senior's season at QB. He was making a tackle in the first half of Ada's 23-14 loss to the Knights.
I don't want to second guess coach Mike Fell, because it's not his fault and I think he's a quality coach, but why have Dysert in the game at DB? I can understand Dysert is a premier athlete, but the Bulldogs are done without Dysert at QB. No questions asked, DONE. (Fell pretty much agreed when Dysert broke the pinkie on his non-throwing hand in the preseason)
Why risk it?

Brilliant!
It looks like Ada proved they are not quite 'DONE' yet. The win more than likely will get them into the playoffs where Dysert will be back leading the team.
So, you're going to tell me that there was no concern about Ada when Dysert went down. The state offensive player of the year, a front runner for Mr. Football, a Division I college verbal, and there's not supposed to be any worry. O.K. If so, where was your "brilliant" post before Friday?!
That said, Mitchell Faine is quite an athlete. I came away from the game quite impressed ... and, yes, with the taste of crow.
Where did I say there was no concern? I'm also not the one who stuck a fork in a team by saying they are done without having one player on the field.
The bottom line is that Ada is a well coached team; the defense gets better and better and they have a few playmakers at the skill positions. Faine's not going to come in and put up Dysert-like stats this early in his career, but if he makes smart decisions with the football, they can win some games.
And my point is Dysert means more to Ada than any player on that team. I still say the Bulldogs aren't going to do now what they could have done with Dysert.
You can't, in all honesty, tell me you saw that win coming. No hiccups after losing their star QB?
All the credit in the world goes to Mike Fell and his coaching staff and those kids on the field.
Now, let's see what they can do at Jefferson and at LCC.
